The big #1

I am now offically a one year old! Mommy and Daddy keep saying I get to do some pretty cool things when I am one year old. I guess it all starts with me getting my VERY OWN CAKE! We had a bunch of people come to my house (mostly grown ups) and I got to rip paper and touch some new toys (mommy kept taking them away from me and then putting some more paper in front of me....). Then we sang a song and I got to eat the WHOLE CAKE in the picture above!! I had sooooo much fun. The cake was yummy chocolate and I made such a mess I needed a bath afterwards. Oh - I had lots of balloons too! I spent the next few days playing with them in my house!

I am a jumping bean

I LOVE to jump! I jump in my crib, on mommy and daddy's lap and anywhere else I can bounce!

What FUN!

The other day a BIG box arrived at my house. Mommy said it had "presents" in it for me, and she took them out of the box and put them under a tree in our house. One night when mommy was gone for a few hours - Daddy and I started playing with what was left in the box......I HAD SO MUCH FUN!

Yum....my new favorite

Mommy brought these yummy things home from the store for me. Wow - I gobble these up as fast as I can get them! I won't even waste my time with those apple flavored stars anymore...these little crunchies I can chew with my front teeth (of which I have FOUR front teeth now!). Mmmmmmmmm mmmmmm GOOD!

Getting STRONGER!

Yup! This is ME! I have learned to stand up on my own. I LOVE to stand up in my crib - or in this case my Grandma's pack-n-play. Soon I will be cruising like mommy, daddy and our two cats! Watch out world....

My side job....

Yup - this is me. Sometimes I moonlight as a bank robber. When I was on vacation I came across a sweet job in Virgina City, Nevada. My getaway was through a coal mine. Can you see my stash? Now just think of all the toys I can get with that cash.....

My cousin Scott

This is me and my cousin Scott. Scott is about one year older than me. Mommy and daddy took me on another plane ride to see my grandma and grandpa Twogood and my Aunt and Uncle and cousin Scott. We all stayed together at a place called Lake Tahoe. I loved playing with my cousin Scott - he had all sorts of cool toys that I learned to play with. My favorites were his cars and his soccer ball. Scott scared me a few times with a deep "growl"...mommy said he sounded like a bear. I did cry the first day Scott would :growl" at me because I was scared...but now I have learned to "growl" on my own. I am trying to be scary like Scott - but mommy and daddy just smile and laugh at me.

Wonder Pets!

I like the wonder pets. Mommy brought me back a treat from the store...my very own wonder pets DVD! Now I can watch wonder pets when ever I want! I dance to all the songs the wonder pets sing.

Sleepy time

Here is my new sleeping position. When mommy puts me in my crib I immediately roll to my tummy now. I fall right asleep. Then later on my butt goes in the air like this:

My new skill

Yup! Look at me! I have master the art of holding my own bottle! Mommy just hands it to me and I hold it in my mouth!

It has been a while

I have been so busy growing up lately - I have forgotten to tell the world about it! I just turned 7 months old a few days ago. The day after I turned 7 months old I got my first tooth! It was bugging me for a while....I was chewing on anything and everything. Daddy bought me this big shark that I like to chew on. But my tooth is finally here. Mommy says I will start to get more grown up food soon. I sure wish it was coming faster - I want to eat all the colorful stuff mommy and daddy eat. I sit in my special chair every night and watch them eat the grown up food.

I have enjoyed my summer with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Nick. Aunt Sarah (and Uncle Nick when he isn't working) and I play every day while mommy and daddy go to work. Aunt Sarah takes me on long stroller rides (I have the tan legs to prove it!), to the pool, we hang out in her bedroom, we go to the store and I watch Aunt Sarah cook some yummy grown up food. I sure am going to miss Aunt Sarah and Uncle Nick when they leave in a week to go back to school (what is that?).

The next trick I want to master is the "crawl". Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Sarah are always putting me on my tummy and making me sit up on my knees. One of these days I will start to move more with my knees. I think I like standing more than trying to crawl.

I feel like such a grown up boy now...I graduated to the big bath tub! I got so big I didn't fit in my little tub - so now daddy gives me baths in the big tub. I LOVE IT! I get to splash around, play with my duck, pig, sheep and daddy is teaching me how to drink the tub water out of a cup! I look forward to my baths every night with daddy.

I also sleep lots during the night now. I go to bed about 8:30 or 9pmish and normally wake up around 7-8am. When my tooth was trying to come I woke up a few nights crying - it was hurting. Mommy came in and gave me some love and some medicine and rocked me back to sleep. There were a few nights daddy did it too.

The things I can do....

I have been growing up so fast lately! I keep growing out of my clothes lately! Mommy has me on a mix of 6-9 month and 12 month clothes - I am only 5 months old! I wonder what a 5 month old looks like that fits in 3-6 month clothes....hmmm.

I see so many things now - my favorite thing is fire. I like candles. It was fun to stare at daddy's birthday cake with candles....when is the next birthday party? When mommy and daddy take me to resturants sometimes they have candles on the table and I STARE at them all night. I also like to grab everything within my reach.

I am getting tired of my car seat, especially on long road trips. I try and sit up out of my car seat all the time. My back gets super sweaty....what is the deal with me not getting direct access to the air conditioning? Mommy and daddy took me to southern utah a little bit ago - there were lots of cool rocks to look at. I was tuckered out by the end of the trip.

I like pears...not peaches

Mommy has been trying to feed me this funny stuff. She calls it rice cereal...but to me it is way too yucky. I always spit it out - it makes mommy mad some times. Well, the other day she gave me something a little bit sweeter - I think it was peaches. It was better than rice cereal, but a bit to tart for my likings. TODAY mommy gave me PEARS! I loved them!!! I kept eating them bite after bite...I sure hope I get pears every day!

I love my new jumper....I haven't mastered going up and down yet, but I sure do like all the noises it makes!

My new trick

Today I learned a new trick! I learned how to pull off my socks. I played a trick on Auntie Sarah - I pulled off my socks four times today......I would "hide" them all throughout the house....she never realized it was me until mommy saw me do this trick:

My first swim

Today I got to go for my first swim! Mommy got me all dressed up in my swimsuit and we headed the pool down the street from our house. I had so much fun! Watch my video:

Chew chew chew

I have been chewing my hands like CRAZY!!! It feels so good when I chew my hands. Mommy thinks I may be getting a tooth....I have been really cranky too. I just get tired of chewing some times.
